A message from our Treasurer…Russ Bertrand

Defeating an incumbent is always a tough challenge…and this race will be no exception.  Strong financial support is the essential life line that supplements our door to door efforts.  TV, radio, signage, mailings, and literature cost bucks, and with your help, our name and message will be easily recognized & supported at the ballot box come this November 4th.

On behalf of Team Bertrand I would like to personally Thank you in advance for your contribution & may God bless you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,
Russ Bertrand

Welcome

A call to serve... Late last spring while participating in a health care conference in Des Moines I attended a Legislative update presented by Republican House Minority Leader Christopher Rants. As he walked us through the current Democratic agenda, I sat stunned as I digested the current assault on our states economic and social well being. As I left the conference Christopher's closing remarks echoed in my head, "We need help over here in Des Moines...we need good people to step up and serve." This call to serve hit me like a ton of bricks, and it was at that moment I decided to run for the Iowa House of Representatives.

I have proudly called District 2 home my entire life, and it is time we elect a representative that will go to Des Moines and represent our interests, our neighbors, our great City, and Northwest Iowa. My vision for Iowa combines aggressive tax relief with first class education, and responsible spending discipline. My goal is to lead a new conservative movement in Des Moines that will empower individuals, trust local control, harvest graduates at all levels, and create a state that invites new business investment while protecting loyal local employers.

The race for District 2 will be hard fought as my opponent and I have clear differences as pertained to economic and social issues. One advantage I have is that my opponent's voting record and economic views are clear. Ironically the 2008 Legislative session provided us a specific preview of the Legislature's 2009 creative "tax and spend agenda." My goal is to drive a positive campaign that focuses on current issues, while providing a vision of economic and social growth for Iowa.

So what's next...I am asking you as my neighbors, Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike, to get excited and rally around my campaign. Talk to your neighbors, contribute, hang a sign, discuss issues, and most important...I am asking for your VOTE.

A sincere thanks in advance...

...Rick
